Healthy Breakfasts for Busy Mornings

Your alarm clock goes off after pressing snooze (again), you jump in for a quick shower and spend the early morning running around the house getting ready for the day ahead. You brew a hot cup of coffee and just have time for a banana for breakfast… Sound familiar? Tell us about it! However, busy mornings shouldn’t be an excuse to forego a healthy breakfast. We’ve put a fun and healthy twist on your classic breakfast recipes so you can get your fill of nutrients to help you power through those busy mornings. Fresh Cherry & Cranberry Bircher Muesli

Serves: 3 portions

Cooking Time: 2 Minutes


90g Jumbo Oats

30g Dried cranberries

1 large apple (peeled and grated)

100g natural yoghurt

85ml milk or apple juice

90g fresh cherries (deseeded and chopped)

50g flaked almonds (for the garnish)


  1. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients, except the flaked almonds. If the mixture is too dry, then add a touch of water.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Separate into 3 portions and garnish with flaked almonds

Note: If cooking for 1 person, this keeps in the fridge for 5 days and it freezes well too.

Apple & Cinnamon Oat Porridge

Serves: 2

Cook Time: 10 minutes


50g rolled oats

10g chia seeds

10g flaxseeds/linseeds

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp ginger – ground

150ml coconut water

60ml water

20g apple - chopped

1 fresh fig

½ tsp honey


  1. Add milk and water and bring to the boil. Add the oats, chopped apple and simmer for 25 minutes until grains are soft
  2. Add flaxseed and cinnamon, ginger and mix well
  3. Serve with sliced apple and drizzle with honey
